House agrees on compromise on bill to limit unwanted e-mails - 2003-11-21
Congress made a major move closer to the first-ever federal protections against unwanted commercial e-mails, as the House announced a surprise compromise on tough new limits over sending irritating offers on the Internet.

"Now we can go back to looking forward to opening our inboxes in the morning because we'll have notes from our friends rather than herbal supplements and mortgage offers," said Rep. Heather Wilson, R-N.M.

So you think moving house or negociating a mortgage is stressful? You should try finding a builders. As a 21st century illness, 'having the builders in' should be right up there with repetitive strain injury and sick building syndrome.

Both RSI and SBS have, of course, been common complaints in the construction industry for years. Our last handyman suffered repetitive strain from making too much tea when he was supposed to be working and by the time he eventually finished the job, even the building was sick of him.
