Mortgage rates decrease - 2003-11-21
Supported by assurances of the Federal Reserve that inflation is not a concern, mortgage rates plummeted sharply this week, Freddie Mac reported.

The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 5.83 percent, with an average 0.6 point, down from 6.03 percent last week.

The average for the 15-year FRM this week is 5.17 percent, with an average 0.7 point, down from last week's average of 5.39 percent.

Hawaii mortgage rates drop to 5.5% - 2003-11-21
Most of Hawaii's biggest banks have slashed their 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage rates this week. The going rate is now 5.5 percent, the Honolulu Board of Realtors reports. This is about the same as in the last week of September.

Bank of Hawaii and First Hawaiian Bank, the two lenders that dominate the Hawaii banking market, are both quoting 5.5 percent, down a quarter point from the week before.
