Carrollton Bancorp has decided to return to the mortgage business after leaving the sector just a few years ago.

Carrollton decided to "inactivate" its mortgage subsidiary, Carrollton Mortgage Services Inc., in 2000 after deciding the unit exposed the bank too much to falling interest rates.
