Market Street Mortgage buys Memorial Park Mortgage - 2003-05-06
Market Street Mortgage, a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlanta-based NetBank, has acquired the operational assets of Houston-based Memorial Park Mortgage Ltd.

The transaction builds on Clearwater, Fla.-based Market Street Mortgage's and NetBank's strategic plan to diversify their mortgage operations by providing the company a broader presence in the Southwest, one of the country's most desirable mortgage markets.

Industry wants 'onerous' mortgage lending law changed - 2003-05-06
New Mexico mortgage industry professionals and consumer advocacy groups are going back to the negotiating table to iron out details of a new and predatory lending law.

Governor Bill Richardson signed Senate Bill 449, the Home Loan Protection Act, into law on April 11. Introduced by Senator Manny Aragon (D-Bernalillo), the law attempts to curb predatory lending.
