Majority intend to use pension for mortgage or holidays - 2003-08-07
New research done by Scottish Widows has highlighted that many people are intending to use their pension for reasons other than day-to-day living in retirement.

When asked by Scottish Widows what they would spend their money on when they retire, 31 per cent of respondents said they would pay off their mortgage, while a further 41 per cent would want a luxury holiday.

Mortgage borrowers eligible for $5.1M - 2003-08-07
Almost 6,900 Wisconsin residents are eligible for part of a $5.1 million settlement with Household International Inc. over alleged deceptive and unfair lending practices, the state attorney general declared.

Mortgage or home equity borrowers, most of whom are from southeast Wisconsin, should receive claim notices in the mail over the next two weeks. Consumers who obtained a mortgage loan directly from Household International from January 1999 through September 2002 are eligible.
