Habitat for Humanity holds northwest applications - 2003-08-07
Habitat provides families in need a hand up--not a hand out. Applicants must meet specific financial standards earning within minimum and maximum income levels, have a reasonable credit rating, be currently living in poverty or sub-standard housing and must be willing to partner with Habitat to build homes and communities.

Those who qualify invest a minimum of 350 hours of "sweat equity" helping to build their house and the houses of others. In addition they will pay $500 as down payment and receive an interest-free, 20-year mortgage.

HomeStreet Bank gets neighborly - 2003-08-07
HomeStreet Bank is starting a new national marketing campaign through billboards, radio, direct mail and its branches, called "Great neighbors. Great bankers." The campaign highlights community involvement and local decision making in branches and regions.

In Hawaii, the marketing campaign will be seen in direct mail, print media and signage at HomeStreet's two branches and three mortgage loan offices.
