Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco Shows November 2003 Cost of Funds Index - 2004-01-01
The Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco revealed December 31, 2003, that the monthly weighted average cost of funds index for 11th District savings institutions for November 2003 is 1.821%. The index for October 2003 was 1.909%.

The COFI reflects the interest paid by savings institutions in Arizona, California, and Nevada on their various sources of mortgage money. Changes in interest rates on adjustable rate mortgage loans offered by many financial institutions are tied to changes in the COFI.

Unemployed Oregonians don't need to grab a look at their Christmas present from Congress and the Bush Administration.

Bush Administration supporters celebrate increased productivity (more output with fewer workers) and rapid Gross Domestic Growth (all of that mortgage refinancing), but most people judge the success of the economy by jobs. And in Oregon and in the rest of the country, jobs have not recovered from the recession.
