UK mortgage market hits new high - 2004-01-16
The UK mortgage market posted a record amount of lending last year with about £222.4bn advanced during the first 10 months of 2003, compared with £218.6bn throughout all of 2002.

Market analyst Datamonitor said people remortgaging to get a better deal or to release cash from their property during 2003 drove the surge.

Mortgage Express announces product manager - 2004-01-16
Mortgage Express has posted Mary Sung to the position of Product Development Manager.

Mary will manage self certification and 100%+ mortgage products, and will also focus on the first time buyer market. She joined Mortgage Express in January 2003 as an Assistant Product Manager, and has worked on a range of initiatives including launches of the Lifetime and Stepladder products.
