This month, millions of homeowners are being sent a document from their mortgage company that they may find confusing or nettlesome -- the annual escrow account disclosure statement.

The very idea of an escrow account gets under some homeowners' skins. After all, escrows mean that you pay more -- often hundreds of dollars per month more -- than the principal and interest you owe to the lender.

Mortgage comes second to Olympic ambition - 2004-01-17
COMMONWEALTH 400 metres hurdles champion Chris Rawlinson has maintained paying his mortgage will take second place in his mission for Olympic glory this summer.

Rawlinson has struggled in major championships aside from his Manchester triumph in 2002, something he attributes to the financial imperatives which forced him to compete in more races per season than he would like.
