New training and competence package for the mortgage market - 2004-01-19
A new training and competency system is being released on 30th January to address the challenges of the regulated mortgage market, in a joint venture by the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Life Insurance Association and the Society of Financial Advisers.

The web-based mortgage ASSESS facility will be available from February, well in advance of the introduction of statutory regulation on 31st October 2004.

Coalition: American Indians should take control of home finance - 2004-01-19
New Mexico's American Indian tribes and pueblos, still studying a recent federal report that shows rampant housing discrimination against them, have been told to take matters into their own hands.

An ad hoc coalition of 47 groups, started in 2000 to get non-existent reservation mortgage lending off the ground in New Mexico, has released a new guide, advising the state's nearly two dozen tribes and pueblos to take charge of their own home financing destinies.
