Colombian mortgage loans higher 20.37 pct July-Sept - 2004-01-02
Colombian mortgage loans to purchase new and old homes increased 20.37 percent to 295.171 billion pesos ($106.2 million) in July-September compared with the same period in 2002, the government said on Friday.

That compares with a 2.03 percent drop in mortgage loans in April-June 2003, the National Statistics Department said.

Mortgage lending growth up in November - 2004-01-02
Mortgage lending growth increased again in November, bringing the annual rate of growth to 25.5 per cent, according to new figures from the Central Bank.

The increase in mortgage lending comes despite some evidence of a slowdown in house price growth and an examination by IFSRA, the financial regulator, of the lending practices of the financial institutions.
