Subsidy cuts to curb business for residential developers - 2004-01-22
After December’s record high sales of residential properties, real estate companies are getting ready for slower business this year due to recent cuts in the government’s home loan scheme.

The Land Credit and Mortgage Bank Rt (FHB) handled a record number of loan requests in December, endorsing applications to the value of Ft 8 billion.

National Housing Assistance Program Likes Federal Mortgage Proposal - 2004-01-22
President Bush's call for the elimination of down payment requirements for FHA first-time home buyer mortgage approval got support Tuesday from the head of a national housing assistance program.

The down payment and closing costs for Federal Housing Administration insured loans would be wrapped into the loan amount and spread over the life of the loan under a proposal made to Congress.
