Wauwatosa, Wis., Economic Development Corporation Regroups - 2004-01-23
The Wauwatosa Economic Development Corp., created in 1990 to jump-start redevelopment in this Milwaukee County suburb, is regrouping after running out of funds and laying off its two-person staff in October.

"We will be expected to give a favorable report to get our next allowance," said Jungen, chief executive officer of Central States Mortgage in Wauwatosa.

A mortgage is a huge financial commitment for most of us; the biggest we'll ever commit. So it might shock us to learn that we may not have the mortgage that suits us best but the one that suits our mortgage broker best.

It may not surprise us that mortgage brokers receive commission payments from lenders, but many borrowers would be surprised to learn that brokers also receive other payments, over and above the "normal" upfront and trailing, or ongoing, commissions.
