Prepaying mortgage usually smart move - 2004-01-25
Since we've paid down the mortgage on our own home, we're thrilled finally to meet a financial adviser who approves of our action.

In certain circumstances, acknowledges Paul Palazzo, a certified financial planner with L.J. Altfest & Co., of New York, paying off your mortgage could be wise.

Murrieta rents highest in area - 2004-01-25
Landlords got more value for their buck in Murrieta, where the average rent charged for an apartment stayed well above those in neighboring Lake Elsinore and Temecula in the last three months of 2003.

"One of the interesting things is obviously you've got single-family home prices that are going up and people are still buying," said Gerald Cox, marketing director of RealFacts. "That has also put pressure on multifamily housing. They are losing tenants because they are taking advantage of historically low (mortgage) interest rates."
