Massachusetts Housing Market Still Strong, Realtors Say - 2004-01-28
Record low mortgage rates plus a shortage of single-family homes have made 2003 by far Massachusetts' strongest-ever year for condominium sales, a real estate organization reports.

Last year was likely to have set a record for overall sales (condos and single-family homes) as well.
Representatives from the Massachusetts Association of Realtors haven't quite made final tallies.

Police: Oleh fraud cost state, banks hundreds of millions - 2004-01-28
Sources inform “Globes” that the Israel Police Tel Aviv division is investigating a new comprehensive bank fraud that has resulted in damages estimated in the hundreds of millions of shekels.

A criminal gang divided into northern and southern sections is responsible for the fraud, which involves both commercial and mortgage banks.
