Mortgage rates edge up - 2004-01-09
Mortgage rates inched up this week, with the 30-year rate reaching to the highest level in nearly a month. Nationwide, the average rate on 30-year mortgages rose to 5.87 percent from 5.85 percent last week, Freddie Mac reported.

For 15-year mortgages, rates increased to 5.17 percent from 5.15 percent. Rates for one-year adjustable mortgages rose to 3.76 percent from 3.72 percent.
