Del Mar boss regards settlement 'the greatest thing in the world' - 2004-02-21
A long-simmering state regulatory battle with Vestin Mortgage has concluded with a settlement in which a predecessor company admitted to one administrative violation.

Scott Bice, commissioner of the Mortgage Lending Division, and officers of Vestin Mortgage and predecessor Del Mar Mortgage signed the agreement Thursday.

For area home builders, business is healthy. The parade helps them keep it that way.

It means more people will be coming south to escape the cold -- and look at new houses while they're here. That's one reason why home builders are expecting a busy time of it during the 2004 Parade of Homes (low mortgage interest rates and a demand for real estate are two others).
