Beware of mortgage rates that jump before you close on loan - 2004-02-23
We just heard from a reader whose mortgage broker said not a problem: she could lock into an attractive mortgage rate on a new home and easily close within 15 days.

Suddenly interest rates spiked up on her. By the time she was ready to sign on the dotted line, rates had increased so much that the mortgage broker was forced to place her loan with another lender.

Tarrant County Incorporates Hart InterCivic System to Electronically Record Real Estate Documents - 2004-02-23
Tarrant County is the first urban Texas county to electronically record titles, mortgage documents and other property records. Electronic recording, known as eRecording, is a fixture of Hart InterCivic's Anthem(tm) system for integrated public records management.

Tarrant County adopted Anthem last fall as part of an ongoing e-commerce initiative that includes electronic recording, extensive Internet access to documents and online sales of public records.
