AmSouth places high in online customer satisfaction - 2004-02-27
AmSouth bank is placed first among the nation's top 50 financial institutions for online customer service, according to a recent study done by the Allen Bonde Group.

The study looked at how easily a customer could get an answer to three questions from the 40 banks among the top 50 that include a search engine on their Web site. The questions were: Where are your bank's branches? Do you have a 20-year, fixed-rate mortgage?

Hawaii mortgages at 5.25% for third week - 2004-02-27
Hawaii 30-year mortgage rates, going through an unusual period of stability, are mostly at 5.25 percent for the third week, while most major lenders are quoting 4.5 percent for 15-year notes.

"Financial markets seem to have locked into this level of mortgage rates," said Freddie Mac chief economist Frank Nothaft. "And it looks like consumers are taking advantage of the low level of mortgage rates.
