Mortgage lender Abbey shares drop - 2004-02-28
The suffering shareholders of Abbey National took another hit yesterday as the bank admitted it had slumped £686million into the red.

The City had been expecting the former building society and Britain's second biggest mortgage lender to make a loss, but its estimate had been around £143million.

Housing development slightly drops in Evanston - 2004-02-28
With the way the nation’s economy has varied in the past several months, it may seem strange to see construction workers atop a new home driving in the final nails and declaring it livable.

Low mortgage rates are also behind much of the development and growth in the residential sections of the city. Boroughs noted that it is a good time to purchase or build a home, especially for first-time buyers.
