Cash-Out Refinancing Activity Increased In 4Q Of 2003 - 2004-02-04
The share of home refinancings taking cash out increased in the fourth quarter of 2003, according to Freddie Mac, the nation's second largest mortgage financer.

During that quarter, 45% of Freddie Mac-owned loans that were refinanced resulted in new mortgages at least 5% higher in amount than the original mortgages, according to the company's quarterly refinance review.

Eight weeks until early application discount ends, FSA reminds mortgage firms - 2004-02-04
The Financial Services Authority today informed mortgage firms looking for direct authorisation, ahead of the start of mortgage regulation on 31 October, that there are only eight weeks left until the early application discount period finishes.

The discount period for early applications from mortgage firms seeking direct authorisation ends on 31 March.
