US 2003 home prices climb 7.97 pct vs yr ago - 2004-03-01
U.S. average home prices climbed 7.97 percent in 2003, helped by strong housing demand and historically low mortgage rates, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight revealed on Monday.

This increase marked the fourth straight year in which average home prices climbed more than 7.5 percent across the country. In the past five years, average home prices rose 41.8 percent, OFHEO said.
