February home sales climb 21% over 2003 - 2004-03-10
Eager buyers trying to get in before mortgage rates increase once again pushed home sales forward last month, with 21% more houses changing hands compared to February 2003.

''The buzz is on the street that (interest) rates are going to be up by summer,'' said Realtor Christie Wilson of the Wilson Group in Nashville. People are ''still trying to take advantage of low interest rates.''

Two-thirds of Canadians believe they will own their dream home - 2004-03-10
Two-thirds (68%) of Canadian homeowners and prospective home buyers believe that they will have their dream home, according to a recent CIBC telephone poll done by Decima Research.

"Most Canadians see owning their dream home as a definite possibility - and this optimism is tied to affordability," said Paul Mims, Vice President, CIBC Mortgages and Lending.
