Freddie Mac’s chief lobbyist leaving on backdrop of election finance inquiry - 2004-03-12
Mortgage giant Freddie Mac said Thursday its chief lobbyist is leaving amid an investigation by the Federal Election Commission into the company’s adherence with campaign finance laws.

Severance pay for Mitchell Delk is being withheld until the election commission’s review is completed, the company said. Freddie Mac said it will cooperate fully with the inquiry.

CML welcomes Miles final report - 2004-03-12
The Council of Mortgage Lenders welcomes the final report and recommendations unveiled today by David Miles.

The CML believes the recommendations provide a sensible package of measures that would, taken together, generate improvements in the UK mortgage market. However, care will be needed to establish cost-effective mechanisms to deliver them in practice.
