Mortgage holders require cheaper deals - 2004-03-12
Mortgage lenders should offer current customers the cheap deals with which they draw new customers, a Treasury review claims today.

Gordon Brown commissioned the review in an attempt to shore up the mortgage market, believing wider take-up of long-term fixed-rate mortgages could protect the housing market from boom and bust.

Wisconsin Mortgage Delinquencies Lower at End of 2003 - 2004-03-12
The number of Wisconsin homeowners who dropped behind on their mortgage payments decreased at the end of last year, aided by an improving economy.

Of 539,000 Wisconsin residential mortgages, 2.86 percent were a month or more late on their payments in the fourth quarter of 2003, according to a survey released Thursday by the Mortgage Bankers Association.
