I was in the bank the other day having a conversation with my buddy Dave, one of the customer service representatives, who was trying to ratify a problem with my checking account.

So exactly who is carrying this burden of debt? It's certainly not your everyday wage earner. Nor is it your average middle-class person. It's the dual-income family making the whopping mortgage payments on that inflated piece of real estate.

MBA Applauds Over 220 Members of Congress for Approaching HUD to Repropose RESPA Rule - 2004-03-13
The Mortgage Bankers Association today lauded Sens. Tim Johnson (D-SD) and Rick Santorum (R-PA), Reps. Judy Biggert (R-IL) and Ruben Hinojosa (D-TX) as well as over 220 other Members of Congress who this week urged the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to require the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to repropose their rule to reform the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).
