Home mortgage foreclosures on the rise - 2004-03-14
Home foreclosures continue to climb in Gwinnett, another sign that unemployment is still hurting many residents.

Mark Scott, vice president, marketing, with HomeBanc Mortgage Corp., said much of the blame for the rise in foreclosures rests on job losses. With more people suffering from unemployment, many are struggling to pay their bills, but too often they neglect their most important one.

Little builders take up affordability incentives - 2004-03-14
Palm Beach County's incentives to prompt developers to have affordable housing in their projects have failed miserably in the past 10 years, builders and county officials both agree.

That's because county and federal guidelines say housing is affordable only if a family spends 30 percent or less on the mortgage payment, property taxes, insurance and utilities.
