Sleepy Hollow Bank sells mortgage unit - 2004-03-16
Newtown Savings Bank, one of the top local home mortgage lender, added to its strength recently by buying Danbury, Conn.-based Sirianni Mortgage Corp. from the Sleepy Hollow Bank in Sleepy Hollow.

Newtown Savings chairman and chief executive officer John Martocci said the firm was purchased for roughly $200,000 in what is the first acquisition in his bank's history.

Met Mortgage meets with creditors - 2004-03-16
The question on everyone's mind as Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities officials submitted the company's bankruptcy filings was voiced by Fred Jabora.

"After they emerge from Chapter 11, do we get our money back in full?" the Lewiston, Idaho, resident and Metropolitan investor asked at a creditor's meeting Monday in the Spokane Arena.
