Mortgage Company Investigated - 2004-03-17
A group of hopeful home-buyers across the country that paid money to Money Tree Mortgage, a mortgage company in Woodstock, Georgia, to obtain loans never received their loans and the company is now under investigation.

The company’s owners, however, said they have bent over backwards to help the would-be borrowers qualify for loans.

State Bans Spokane, Wash., Mortgage Firm's Owners for Charging Illegal Fees - 2004-03-17
The two principal owners of a Spokane mortgage firm that allegedly defrauded home buyers and mortgage lenders have accepted a 25-year ban from the mortgage industry.

Ronald Burger and Dale Sage Gibbons, owners of Century Mortgage Inc., also agreed to each pay $17,685 in state investigation costs and $14,589 in restitution to five victims, mostly for illegal mortgage broker fees the company allegedly charged.
