Mortgage Loans Arrive In Korea - 2004-03-18
To assists more Koreans realize the dream of home ownership, major financial institutions will introduce mortgage loans starting March 25 that will allow prospective homeowners to borrow money with extended payback periods of 10 to 20 years.

Government plans to extend the mortgage loan service using the house or apartment as collateral. Individuals will be able to borrow up to 70% of the price of an apartment or up to 65% of the sale price of a house.

Housing figures point to another strong year - 2004-03-18
A two-month drop in home construction has done little to damper rosy predictions for this year's housing market.

Defying meager growth in jobs and incomes, residential real estate will approach or surpass last year's stunning sales, according to industry economists.

"The surprises this year in the housing market will be on the upside," said Rajeev Dhawan, director of the forecasting center at Georgia State University.
