Retirees reverse mortgage finances - 2004-03-19
When Shirley Deuble of North Canton retired from Charter One Bank, she believed that her finances were in order.

``I had everything planned out and thought I was fine,'' said Deuble, who had worked with installment loans.

``It was either a matter of selling the house and moving into an apartment or something, which I did not want to do, or doing something about the mortgage'' on her home.

Housing surge - 2004-03-19
Warren County homes outside the city limits climbed in 2003, even more than in 2002, but the number of new homes in Bowling Green dropped slightly in 2003 from the previous year.

On Wednesday, the Federal Reserve held the federal funds target rate to the 45-year low of 1 percent. While that is the rate at which banks loan each other money, it also serves as a basis for mortgage rates.
