Coachella Valley home prices higher - 2004-03-19
The median sale price for a home in the Coachella Valley climbed past $290,000 for the first time ever this February.

But mortgage rates plummeted earlier this month, to their low- est level since July, according to mortgage lender Freddie Mac.

National interest rates were at 5.41 percent for a 30-year, fixed mortgage, according to a March 17 survey by Bankrate.com, which monitors rates and fees in the financial services industry.

New restaurant is a family affair - 2004-03-19
"We basically constructed a brand new building; we gutted everything," declared head chef and part owner Tim Brown.

Like any good Italian restaurant should be, Zano's is a family affair, and joining Tim in opening the new restaurant is his wife, Dianna, who manages the floor, his brother Bill, who does a little bit of everything around the restaurant and also works as a mortgage broker in town, and Bill's wife, Tobi, who is in charge of all the restaurant's financials.
