U.K. Treasury Says BOE Must Cap House-Price Growth - 2004-03-23
The Bank of England is in a better position to keep a consumer debt under control and the housing market than the Treasury, said Jonathan Cunliffe, a senior Treasury official.

House prices rose 15 percent last year and 25 percent in 2002, the most since 1989, according to HBOS Plc, the nation's biggest mortgage lender. The Bank of England expects house-price growth to slow to zero percent in two years.

Two lots in Clyde bought for Habitat - 2004-03-23
Rev. Lowell Peterson, president of Sandusky County Habitat for Humanity, unveiled at a recent board meeting that two lots have been purchased in Clyde for future home construction.

Families wishing to apply for a Habitat house may also call the office. Guidelines for applying include the need for adequate housing, the ability to purchase a home through a zero-interest, no-profit mortgage and the willingness to physically work with volunteers on the home and/or on other homes.
