Warning on mortgage loans to house buyers - 2004-03-26
First-time buyers in Shropshire may be forced to take on 50-year mortgages to keep their monthly payments affordable if property prices continue to soar, it has been claimed.

Some mortgage companies are already offering repayment terms of 30 years and analysts believe longer term loans of 40 or even 50 years are on their way.

Bush woos Hispanics voters in New Mexico - 2004-03-26
President Bush on Friday promoted his initiatives to assist Americans, especially minorities, "realize their dreams" of home ownership as he wooed the large Hispanic population of a state he barely lost four years ago.

Late last year, Bush signed the American Dream Down Payment Act to help families that can afford monthly mortgage payments but not the down payment or closing costs associated with buying a house.
