Bush Credits Tax Cuts for Housing Boom - 2004-03-27
Zeroing in on the dream of home ownership for the nation's minorities, President Bush on Saturday credited his tax relief program for being a factor in driving the sizzling housing market to record levels.

He also proposes to make zero down-payment loans available to first-time buyers whose mortgages are guaranteed by the Federal Housing Administration.

Millions of householders look set to have higher household and contents insurance costs this spring, as insurers increase the price of their cover to meet a wave of subsidence claims in the wake of last year’s hot weather.

In many cases, they are still with the same insurer recommended to them by their mortgage lender, although the evidence appears to be that more and more people are prepared to shop for a better deal.”
