A boost for aspiring city homeowners - 2004-03-27
CityLiving, a Minneapolis-St. Paul home-financing program almost was overshadowed last year by low interest rates in the commercial market, came back this month with a program to help buyers over the biggest obstacle to purchasing: providing money for down payments and closing costs.

Buyers can get 4 percent of the amount being borrowed in an up-front grant. Those who have their own down payment and closing cash can get a 30-year mortgage at a 4.85 percent interest rate.

Olympics will bring real-estate boom, but not to Whistler ski resort - 2004-03-27
The world will be going to Whistler for the Olympics in 2010, but many of them will be lodging somewhere else.

The average Whistler home now costs $1.3 million. According to Canadian Mortgage Housing Corp. estimates, if yearly 10 per cent increases maintain, the average Whistler house will fetch $3 million in 2010.
