Task force launches housing scam probe - 2004-03-27
City, county, state and federal agencies have started a local task force to investigate possible broader implications of an alleged real estate and home loan fraud targeting Latinos.

Mortgage agents Eddy Oswaldo Morales, Juan Carols Morales and Cristobal Antonio Vilorio of City Lending Group, which closed its doors when the arrests were made.

Met Mortgage seeks relief from lawsuits - 2004-03-27
Metropolitan Mortgage & Securities and its subsidiaries have approached a federal bankruptcy judge to freeze action on pending and future lawsuits against the company and its officers as they attempt to emerge from Chapter 11 protection.

Lawyers for Met Mortgage and Summit Securities, as well as Metropolitan Investment Securities, this week asked that action on lawsuits be suspended, in part to protect the professional liability insurance policies of the companies and executives.
