New Mortgage Misery Manifests at U.K. Insurer Legal & General - 2004-03-03
Insurer Legal & General added to policyholder misery by slashing bonus rates and warning that 75 percent of people who had bought an endowment from the firm may face a mortgage shortfall.

Annual bonuses paid on conventional endowment policies are being cut to 0.75 percent and 1.25 percent from 1 percent and 1.75 percent the previous year.

More than $100 million reportedly lost in mortgage investment scheme - 2004-03-03
A bankrupt mortgage investment operation accused of cheating 700 investors out of more than $100 million is the target of an investigation by the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
