Wales heads British property boom - 2004-03-30
UK property prices climbed by 6.7% over the past 12 months and are continuing to increase according to Nationwide's monthly house price index.

This year has seen a 1.4% rise between February and March and mortgage lenders are now predicting a 15% overall increase for 2004.

Broken down on a regional basis, Wales saw the biggest increase (+36%) while in northern England the second-highest rise of 33% brought the average house price in the region to more than £100,000 (€149,637) for the first time.

EBS cuts home mortgage rate - 2004-03-30
The Educational Building Society is to decrease its variable mortgage rate to 3.25% which it claims is currently the lowest on the Irish market.

The new rates will be introduced from the end of the month - tomorrow - and applies to both existing business and new customers.

A new home loan tracker product will also be launched at the same time and will again target both new and existing clients.
