Wells Fargo "outperform," estimates upped - 2004-03-30
Analyst Andrew B Collins of Piper Jaffray maintained his "outperform" rating on Wells Fargo, while increasing his estimates for the company. The target price is set to $64.

Wells Fargo's operating expenses for the quarter are likely to be lower than the estimates, the analyst says. The rebound in mortgage business in Q1 would boost the company's earnings significantly in Q204, the analyst believes.

Prosperous living in land of the free and home of the millionaire - 2004-03-30
When it's about money, Americans always seem to have more of it and get more out of it than we do. Pay cheques are bigger, taxes are lower and lifestyles are grander on the other side of the Atlantic.

Bush's strategy stands in stark contrast to that of the UK's Chancellor, Gordon Brown, who has stripped families of such perks as tax relief on mortgages and on dividend income, and is planning a cap on pension savings.
