Midwest Hiring Slowdown Dims Job Hopes - 2004-03-31
Job creation unexpectedly stalled in the U.S. Midwest in March, a report indicated on Wednesday, cooling optimism that Friday's national employment report will show hiring at last picking up.

The Mortgage Bankers Association reported on Wednesday that new mortgage applications fell slightly last week from the previous week as home loan rates rose to the highest levels in a month.

ANZ establishes mortgage franchises - 2004-03-31
ANZ Banking Group said it will set up 15 mortgage franchises in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland by July with the goal of establishing 175 nationally.

The bank said former Mortgage Choice executive Steven Heavey has been appointed head of ANZ Mortgage Solutions to develop the franchise network.
