West Roxbury two-family could help pay buyer's mortgage - 2004-03-06
Two-family homes in West Roxbury don't stay on the market too long, so this corner two-family at 41 Hemlock Road is a rare gem.

Built in 1905 and listed at $519,000, this home has a two-bedroom ground-floor unit and four-bedroom second/third-floor unit.

Listing agent Michael Brandon, of Jack Conway Realtor, says an enterprising buyer could live in the upper unit and rent the lower one out for about $1,200 a month, helping with the mortgage.

Mortgage Lending Division already showing its muscle - 2004-03-06
The new state Mortgage Lending Division made its mark last week. Commissioner Scott Bice handed down fines for a pair of home-loan companies doing business in Las Vegas. In doing so, it appears he got the attention of the industry.

The division was created in the last legislative session. It is now in the process of establishing its identity and, in turn, creating a regulatory climate.
