Mortgage Companies Offer 'Energy-Efficient' Home Loans - 2004-04-01
Car buyers usually consider how many miles per gallon a vehicle gets before purchasing it. But homebuyers rarely consider the energy efficiency of a house, even though it can have a huge impact on monthly expenses.

Mortgage companies are now offering loans designed to change that way of thinking. Fannie Mae, the Washington, D.C.-based private mortgage lender is now offering an "Energy Efficient Mortgage" in Rhode Island and in other states.

Homebuyers Enjoy Dip in Mortgage Interest Rates - 2004-04-01
Home buyers, who were told to expect higher mortgage rates this year, are instead enjoying a dropp in interest rates.

The recent declines in home finance costs couldn't be better timed for the spring housing market, and homeowners who want to refinance are also taking advantage of the drop in rates.
