Portland, Ore., Real Estate Agents Push to Sell Homes before Election - 2004-04-02
The odds-on likelihood that interest rates will climb next year should prompt homeowners to buy or sell sooner rather than later, a gathering of some of the Portland area's top-producing real estate agents concluded in a forum this week.

Agents can be unrealistically bullish on the home market under any circumstances, but the strong chances of a mortgage rate increase has added urgency to their message.

Mortgage broker expected to cooperate with probe - 2004-04-02
The only person to be criminally charged in the three-year-old Poconos real estate fraud investigation intends to plead guilty to forgery and help state investigators build cases against others.

Keith Doug Buchanan, 35, a mortgage broker with Northstar Mortgage in Allentown, faces six counts of forgery stemming from a home mortgage he arranged for Kellie and Larry Nau to buy a Tunkhannock Township home.
