Mortgage lenders warn of looming housing crash... - 2004-05-24
The Council of Mortgage Lenders will tomorrow release a blunt warning about the increased dangers of a housing market crash.

The base rate would have to at least double to apply a brake on the runaway market, and the Monetary Policy Committee may already have left it too late to manage a soft landing, the CML will say.

In an interview, Michael Coogan, the CML's director general, said: "There are risks for interest rates. Our simulations suggest that they should more than double if house price growth is to fall into single digits in the short term.

BiH Presidency Chair Sulejman Tihic was present at the Fifth International Conference “Zaklade 2020” on subject “How can we trust each other?”, was revealed on Sunday by Tihic’s cabinet

The Conference was held on May 22 and 23 at Brioni, and was hosted by the President of Republic Croatia, Stjepan Mesic.

The presidents of Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and BiH Presidency Chair talked about establishing trust and regional cooperation, the matters that are regarded as crucial for the entire region.

Participants of the meeting expressed their support to the Hague Tribunal, where they agreed that the significance of ICTY is in the individualization of responsibility for war crimes and removing the mortgage of collective guilt.
