Surge for mortgage loans demonstrates no sign of decelerating - 2004-05-31
Individuals have borrowed zł.5.6 billion from banks in the initial four months of this year, a big rise over the last year driven mainly by mortgage loans to purchase flats, which grew 61.1% yoy.

The massive lending explosion is demonstrating no signs of decelerating , as banks are still easing the lending criteria, anticipating that the enhanced economic conditions will raise individuals' ability to service loans.

U.K. May Property Prices Increased for 10th Month, Hometrack Claims - 2004-05-31
U.K. home prices rose for a 10th month in May, with values in London rushing to a record, the property Web site Hometrack stated, adding to evidence from lenders that greater interest rates haven't dented demand.

"With little prospect of interest rates rising significantly this year and with lenders continuing to aggressively push special mortgage offers, house buyers are still finding the means to afford more and more expensive properties."
