UK mortgages continue to surge - 2004-05-31
Increasing demand for property is helping real estate prices extend a recent series of solid rises, Hometrack stated.

Hometrack's numbers undershoot growth estimates from other property market polls, which suggest that house price inflation is running at an estimated 2%.
Last week, mortgage lender Nationwide stated prices increased 1.9% in May, moving the yearly inflation rate to 19.5%.
