Reserve forces taking advantage of VA home loans - 2004-07-14
There has been a huge increase in the amount of Department of Veterans Affairs home loans to National Guardsmen and reservists in recent years, a top department official said.

Under the act, active-duty servicemembers can get an interest-rate reduction on their consumer credit obligations, including mortgages, Mr. Pedigo said.

Assistance available for some homebuyers - 2004-07-14
Up to $7,500 in down payment and closing costs assistance will soon be accessible to income eligible, first-time homebuyers in Grady County from Washita Valley Community Action Council, Sharlotte Key, executive director, revealed.

Buyers must meet federal income guidelines, qualify for a first mortgage from a lender and complete a homebuyer education workshop. Washita Valley will be offering a homebuyer education workshop on Aug. 7.
