Pay off mortgage loan and forget tax deductions - 2005-01-23
Q: I am a 57-year-old single man, and I would like to retire at age 60. I am considering paying off my home. The home is worth approximately $325,000, and I owe about $70,000 on it. I purchased the home 25 years ago for $69,000.
Should I pay off the house, or continue to pay the mortgage and save as I have been?
