Homebuying is hot -- and thousands of apartments in northern Virginia are being transformed in to condominiums. But experts say that could make it hard for moderate-income residents to find an affordable place to live.

Take a look at how much you spent last year on life's necessities -- food and fuel and savings and mortgage payments.
